Hi, I'm Heekyeong Kim, a product designer.
I take responsibility for products, from deciding which problem to solve and why, all the way to launch.
I've worked across dating, education, commerce, and career platforms, building products from zero to one and improving services already in the market. Today I work as a product designer and PM at Remember, a career platform in Korea.
Early in my career, I focused on the polish of the screen. Now I care more about designing the context in which people choose something, and what that choice leads to. I believe a good product is proven not by its screens, but by how it changes the way people work. That's why I don't stop at launch. I try to take responsibility for whether that change turns into business results.
What I do now
Part Lead, Headhunting RPO
To solve candidate sourcing for headhunters through product, I'm building a recruiting agent for headhunters from zero to one. Working as both product designer and PM, I own everything from defining pain points to requirements, UX design, and launch, which shortens the development cycle by removing the handoff between planning and design. I set quarterly goals and priorities, establish how decisions get made with the engineering and operations teams, and build the metrics we use to measure the agent's impact. The goal is a product that automates sourcing and outreach, so headhunters can spend their time on candidates and clients instead of repetitive tasks.
Deputy Chapter Lead, Design
Together with the chapter lead, I run the product design chapter. I think about how designers should work and turn that into systems, and I support designers' onboarding and growth.
What I've done
Took a product from nothing to market
I joined a startup as its founding designer and led the entire product design and core planning of SERIO, a dating app, from defining the direction of the service to launching on Android and iOS at the same time. I designed the onboarding and matching flows around the idea of "serious relationships built on trust," quickly reflected user feedback after launch, and reached No. 2 in downloads in the matchmaking app category on Google Play within two months.
Changed how people work
At wecode, I designed an LMS and back office from scratch for a coding bootcamp with more than 1,000 participants. I restructured the information architecture for students, mentors, and operators, and designed role-based dashboards and automation for repetitive work. This cut the mentor team's weekly working hours by more than 70% and moved operations from manual work to data-driven work.
Grew services already in operation
At Remember, I redesigned the first-degree connection and profile completion experiences, increasing network activity and profile completeness. At Sephora, I localized the global e-commerce experience for Korean users and redesigned the main page's information architecture and user flow, contributing to a higher main page entry rate and higher sales of featured products.
What I write about here
I keep notes on what I learn from work and side projects, mostly real project stories, working with AI, and lessons from books. Only some posts are available in English so far.
